First Zentangle Post of 2011

Happy New Year everyone!

I am hoping to do a lot more tangling in the new year. I'm also hoping to do more posting this year. We had an okay 2010 I'm hoping for a much better 2011. I don't really want to get into that so I will let it go. One good thing that has happened, is that, I've had a few people tell me I should try and sell my work - that is a bit scary and daunting to me.  So, I guess I'll just keep thinking about it for a while and see if I can actually come up with something that may sell. And how do you decide how much to charge for your work. I've never created anything that anyone would really want to purchase.

In process - Jan's Christmas Present
The goal for this year will be to post at least once a week with a tangled image.  Okay this is what I am working on right now - it is a 5" x 7" image with the letter "J" I am creating this for my sister Jan for Christmas - so I'm a little late this year. I should finish it by the end of the month.  I still need to finish the corners, color the "J" and add the finishing touches prior to framing.

I have another image that I just penciled in, one that I my husband requested that I make for him - I tried to take a picture of the page but because it is in pencil the image did not come out at all - I will try to take it outside tomorrow morning.

  1. Happy New Year, your sister is one very lucky lady beautiful already this will be wonderful when complete. To sell or not to sell always a toughie and just how to do you 'value' your work? Have you looked at other people's eshops to get some idea? Looking forward to seeing more of your magic in 2011 XOXO Zoe

  2. Zoe - Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm almost done with the image - I have to work on the "J" and frame it. I will post the finished project when I'm complete. Last night I worked on a birthday card for Maddie.

  4. Another fabulous gift - such a beautiful design, and I see you've added your scroll again, you should make that your trademark, I've not seen a a scroll in a tangle, it must be unique to yourself, Susan. I totally agree you should sell your work. Go take a look at the Etsy shops there are lots of zentangle things, including jewelery, for sale. Maybe you'll be inspired to take the first step - best of luck. I've got an Etsy shop ready for when I'm well enough to create something worthwhile - I don't know if you remember me mentioning my condition, FMS (Fibromyalgia), which stopped my card and crafts website getting off the ground. But I enjoy watching you develop and grow with your tanglings and I'm cheering you on all the way, hun. Hugs and Blessings, Mo
