I found Zentanlges about a year ago and became completely enthralled with them. The Zentangle site is an amazing wealth of knowledge, the newsletters contain many different "tangles". Maria & Rick make it very easy to understand how to create the different patterns.
When I first looked at the site I thought "there is NO WAY that I will ever be able to make those..." It took me a while to actually try to draw something, I kept looking for more information and found a few websites that have images and some where the authors have created patterns of their own that they share on their sites. There are some amazing artists out there!
I was afraid of putting the pen on the paper - isn't that silly? So, I thought OK an ATC (2.5" x 3.5") would be easy to start with.
I finally took the plunge and this is what I came up with. this is an ATC that I created on 80# White Cardstock with a black Micron 005 pen. It didn't take me long, and was very relaxing; and now I'm hooked.
WOW this is AWESOME! Gosh you've made a fantastic job, it's difficult to believe it's your first tangling creation. WTG! I seem to be following your method of getting started - gathering info. and now frightened to put pen to paper! LOL! I just hope I'm as good as you hun!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw the time on my comment which says 9:28pm LOL! I'm in the UK and it's actually 3:30 am. I have fibromyalgia (FMS) which is a painful condition and includes sleep reversal. So I'm awake all night (with my light box beside me to help alleviate depression - it gets really lonely and I feel very isolated) till 6am then I'll sleep till about 3pm. Sorry I'm rambling on and I want to look at all your other great stuff on this fab blog of yours. That's something I keep telling myself I should do i.e. have my own blog! Some day perhaps! Bye for now, Hugs and Blessings, Mo
